General Dismantling and Disposal Services for residential HDB at Clementi

Services Provided
Project Overview
We were engaged to carry out a comprehensive demolition and disposal programme for a typical HDB flat undergoing a full‐wet‑area renovation. The brief covered three core areas:
- Kitchen – removal (hacking) of the built‑in cabinets and wall‑mounted sink, exposing the underlying worktop and wall for the next phase of the fit‑out.
- Toilets – stripping the existing toilet bowls and basins in both the common toilet and the master bathroom, preparing the wet‑areas for new WC installations.
- Common toilet floor – stripping the existing floor finish to a clean substrate in order to overlay new tiles once the sanitary fixtures are in place.
Our role was the General Dismantling & Disposal Services – safely taking out all fixtures, cabinets, tiles and associated debris, and ensuring that the unit was left tidy and ready for the subsequent installation work.
Technical Challenges
| Challenge | How We Addressed It |
|---|---|
| Tight HDB layout – The flat’s narrow corridors and low ceiling heights limited the movement of demolition tools and the removal of large cabinet sections. | We staged the work in small, manageable zones, using compact hand tools and a phased removal plan that kept pathways clear for waste carts. |
| Protecting adjacent units – HDB blocks share walls, ceilings and plumbing risers; any vibration or dust could affect neighbours. | We employed localized dust‑sheeting, sealed the plumbing chases, and used low‑impact hand hacking rather than power demolition to keep vibration and dust spread to a minimum. |
| Complex plumbing interfaces – Both toilets and the kitchen sink are tied into the building’s water and waste lines. Hacking them without damaging the pipework required precision. | Our technicians isolated the relevant supply and discharge lines, capped them securely, and carefully removed the sanitary units while preserving the integrity of the existing pipework for the new WC |
